Moorhouse is interested in the way colour can alter spatial perception, a phenomenon she first noticed in agricultural landscapes in Wales. In 2017 Moorhouse was included in Compton Verney’s exhibition Seurat to Riley: The Art of Perception, Pattern, Pointillism and Op Art (also at Holburne Museum, Bath). She won the 2014 Creative Wales Award and used it to make The St. Ives Collection, 2016 (shown in our exhibition space in Cornwall). In 2018 Moorhouse created her new Colourblock series, as both as individual pieces and wall mounted pieces. In this work the viewer is invited to look into the interiors, to see lines connect through negative space and across the bowls – an innovative departure from Moorhouse’s horizontal bands. Download CV
