Stephen Chambers R.A.Stephen Chambers R.A. is one of the most original painters of his generation. His work is characterised by highly distinctive imagery, seductively beautiful colour, and intricate pattern. Although at first sight many of Chambers’ works have a narrative quality, they intrigue rather than explain. Collections include V&A, Arts Council, Government Art Collection; solo exhibitions include Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge and Frissiras Museum, Athens. Ander GunnSince the 50’s Ander Gunn took black and white photographs with an analogue camera and developed his own prints. He started in London photographing London scenes, actors and authors including his brother the poet Thom Gunn. He moved to Cornwall in the 60’s, where he photographed many of the well-known artists living there at that time such as Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Barbara Hepworth, Patrick Heron, Roger Hilton, Rose Hilton and Karl Weschke. He lived in Cornwall on and off since then, photographing miners, his family, artists, landscape and the sea. Download CV
Sheila OlinerSheila Oliner 1930 – 2020. At the age of 15 Oliner went to the Slade School of Fine Art and then City and Guilds, London. In the 70’s she worked at Studio Prints, London where she learnt print making from Dorothea Wight. In 1985 she moved to the village of Zennor and had a studio in St. Ives, Cornwall. Whilst there she initiated and raised funds for the Porthmeor Printmakers Workshop. She exhibited widely in UK and showed in USA, Norway, Israel, and Japan where she had particular success. Clementina van der Waltborn in johannesburg in 1952 clementina van der walt currently works in her own studio in woodstock, with assistants adonis n’sele mumpango and euloge think. she and her partner albie bailey have a gallery and studio at kraaldoring, outside calitzdorp in the klein karoo. Clementina says “Ceramics from different cultures and across the centuries used the same process, connecting people through the ages – that is amazing to me.” She is represented in many South African public collections.
